e-TALENTA & Black Nights Stars at Tallinn Cooperation

As you may know, one of e-TALENTA’s principles has always been to support and promote young talents from all over Europe. We are therefore delighted to announce our cooperation with the Black Nights Stars programme at PÖFF, the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn!

Inspired by the European Shooting Stars programme at Berlinale, eight young actresses and actors from the Baltic Sea region are selected by a jury of renowned casting directors, agents and filmmakers.

Black Nights Stars is a program launched by the Black Nights Film Festival in 2017, designed to help young actors from the Baltic Sea region gain international visibility and promote themselves inside and outside their home territories. The program facilitates connections with international film professionals and training in practical skills needed in their future international careers.

This year’s jury included casting director Cassandra Han (US/Italy/Germany), casting director Tanja Grunwald (Denmark), casting director Frank Moiselle (Ireland/UK), casting director Kristina Kolytė (Lithuania), as well as talent agent Malou T. Schultzberg (Sweden), Oscar-nominated director Tanel Toom (Estonia) and cinematographer Philippe Ros (France).

As part of the cooperation between the Black Nights Stars programme and e-TALENTA, there will be a presentation of the platform for actresses, actors, agents, casting directors and filmmakers in Tallinn on Wednesday the 15th of November.

We are going to look at how actresses and actors can use their e-TALENTA profiles to present and promote themselves in a comprehensive and professional way and how casting professionals search for and work with them.

The platform is currently available in 17 languages – including Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian. This means that all features can be used in these languages and all profiles can be viewed in them as well.

Please write to us at info@e-talenta.eu if you would like to attend the presentation in Tallinn.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Pimedate Ööde filmifestival, PÖFF) first took place in 1997. Since 2014, PÖFF is one of the 15 A-list film festivals accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) alongside the Cannes, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastian, Locarno, Venice, Berlin, Cairo, Mar de Plata, Goa, Tokyo and other film festivals.

The aim of the festival is to present a comprehensive selection of world cinema from the last two years to a local and international audience, offering fresh film production with high artistic value.

Today, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival with IndustryTallinn & Baltic Event and with the two sub-festivals, Just Film and PÖFF Shorts, has grown into one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and the busiest regional industry platforms. The festival is an important meeting point for a rapidly growing number of industry professionals from around the globe.

The 27th edition will take place from the 3th until the 19th of November, while the festival’s industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event will run from 13th until the 17th of November.
