On the evening of the 4th of October, at the Cinema Massimo Troisi in Rome, a screening of the documentary “Bonnie” (directed by Simon Wallon) was organised by the Unione Italiana Casting Director (UICD – the Italian Casting Directors Union) and sponsored by e-TALENTA.
“Bonnie” showcases the life of casting director Bonnie Timmermann (who was also in attendance), a casting titan who has discovered countless actors and actresses, who we now refer to as movie stars. The film also gives us an insight into how Bonnie Timmermann works and how vital her input was to renowned directors choosing who to cast in their films and TV series.
We were so thrilled to be asked to be part of this event by the UICD, highlighting the importance of casting directors in the business – which has also been a vital part of e-TALENTA’s vision since its creation by casting director Beatrice Kruger in 2007.
Since then, we have diligently supported casting directors in Italy and abroad, listening to their feedback and implementing new tools to facilitate a creative and transparent casting process.
We will continue to work closely with the UICD, providing them with new technologies and innovative ideas, so that they may focus on the creative side of casting and spend less time dealing with admin.
Finally, we would like to thank Laura Muccino, Francesco Vedovati and every casting director in the Unione Italiana Casting Director for their trust in us.
